How do you pick the perfect school for you kid ? if a same sex school offers best education system , then you should send you kid to that school . same concept goes with the co-ed school . 

your attitude towards your kid interacting with the opposite sex and home environment plays a huge role . but in most of the cases , student who belong from same sex  school , they become vey meek . Growing up in the protective environment and studying in boys / girls school , some people does not behave authentic self in front of the opposite sex in social situations or in a family meeting . they think the opposite sex as mysterious being . 

there are many family who are not happy with the environment of same sex school . On the arranged marriage circuit, the term ‘convent educated’ still features prominently in marriage bio-datas.

Is a co-ed school going to nudge my child towards adulthood sooner than required? Will having the opposite sex around distract them from learning and growing?

distraction is a word parents often use , but the actual word is attraction . parents don't want to understand this is not come to the co-ed school . its an age related issue . at a certain age , your child will develop romantic feeling , which is quite natural . 

in this situation , you should make bond with your children . talk with them . don't dismiss their feelings before listening . explain that there are certain things they do when they are old enough to tackle the responsibility . 

Allow  kids to form their own opinions, instead of forcing them to settle for society’s perception of what a girl and boy’s bond stands for. Also, remember that children’s first lesson in forming bonds is by observing adults around them. How parents interact with or treat the opposite sex is what the child is likely to imitate.
